In June 2023, the ECPAT Global Boys Summit brought together over 60 local and international practitioners and advocates, united by a mission to protect boys from sexual violence. Building on years of critical discussion, the summit sparked critical discussions on challenges in service provision, collaboration, and strategies for real change. From this, a clear message emerged—there was an urgent need for a global alliance to ensure boys are included in efforts to combat sexual violence and protect all children.
This led to the creation of the Global Alliance for the Protection of Boys from Sexual Violence (GAPB), formed by international and local organisations with deep expertise in child protection. Our Steering Committee includes All Survivors Project, ECPAT International, Equimundo, Family for Every Child, Physicians for Human Rights, Save the Children, and Women’s Refugee Commission.
The GAPB bridges local practices with global advocacy, advocating for gender equity and supporting broader gender-based violence efforts. We are a movement striving to ensure every boy, every child, is free from the harm of sexual violence. Through collaboration and action, we aim to drive change and put boys at the forefront of the global child protection agenda.
Our vision is clear: to build a world that is caring, nurturing, and enabling—a world with gender equality where every child's rights are safeguarded, and nobody suffers from sexual violence is not just an ideal but a reality for all.
